Photo guide
Photos that sell your eFoil
Buyers can't touch the board, so your photos do the inspection for them. Plan for 8–12 shots — a phone camera is plenty. Here is the exact checklist, plus what buyers zoom into first.
The checklist
8–12 shots, in this order
Full board — top side
The whole board from directly above, deck pad and rails fully in frame. This is usually your cover photo.
Full board — bottom side
Flip it. Buyers check the hull for pressure dings, scratches from beach starts, and repair patches.
Mast + fuselage
The full mast from the side, plus a closer shot of the fuselage and the mast-to-board connection. Corrosion and impact marks live here.
Wings
Front wing and stabiliser, top and bottom. Photograph the leading edges straight on — chips and dings on the leading edge are the first thing experienced buyers look for.
Battery + charger
The battery itself, the charger, and — if your system has one — the display or app screen showing charge cycles and battery health. A visible serial number builds serious trust.
Remote
The hand controller, front and back. Show the screen switched on if it has one.
Damage close-ups
Every scratch, chip, crack or repair, close up and in focus. Counterintuitive but true: honest damage photos make buyers trust the whole listing more — and pre-empt the questions that stall a deal.
Accessories
Everything included in the price laid out in one shot: bags, spare props, tools, extra wings, vests. One group photo, plus singles for high-value extras.
Action shot (optional)
You riding this actual board. Not required, but it proves the board flies and makes the listing memorable.
The listing form accepts up to 6 images, so pick the strongest from your set — always include both full-board shots, the battery shot and every damage close-up. We can add the rest during review if a buyer asks.
Lighting & setup
Make a phone camera look professional
Daylight, not direct sun
Shoot outdoors in open shade or on an overcast day. Harsh midday sun blows out white boards and hides surface detail; indoor lamps turn everything yellow.
Clean, neutral background
A garage floor, lawn, or plain wall works. Move the clutter — buyers read a tidy background as a cared-for board.
Clean and dry the gear first
Rinse off salt and sand, dry it, then shoot. Water spots and sand in the shots read as neglect.
Fill the frame, keep it sharp
Get close enough that the item fills most of the photo, hold the phone steady, and tap to focus. Skip filters and heavy editing — the photos must show the board as it really is.
Insider knowledge
What buyers zoom into
Experienced eFoil buyers pinch-zoom the same spots on every listing. Photograph these deliberately — sharp and well-lit — and you answer their questions before they ask.
- Leading edges of the wings — chips and dings
- Rails and nose of the board — pressure marks, repairs
- Mast base and fuselage joints — corrosion, stripped screws
- Battery connectors and seals — corrosion, swelling
- Charge-cycle / battery-health display, if the system shows one
- Deck pad wear and mounting points
Photos done?
Then the hard part is over. The listing form takes about ten minutes — and it's free.
