Used eFoils are high-value deals between strangers, often across borders. This page explains what we actively protect, what to watch out for yourself, and — just as important — where our role ends. No overclaiming.
Built-in protection
How the relay protects both sides
Contact details stay private
Neither side sees the other's name, email or phone number until a match is confirmed. Sellers get no spam or lowball cold calls; buyers know they're talking to a verified listing, not a scraper.
Every message passes through us
Questions and answers are relayed via [email protected]. A human reads each one — phishing links, payment tricks and pressure tactics get filtered out before they reach you.
Verified listings only
Every listing is reviewed before publication, and we can request proof of ownership and serial numbers from sellers at any time.

The relay filters most of this out — but you should recognise the patterns anyway, here and on every other marketplace.
A price that's too good to be true
A nearly-new board at half market price is the oldest lure there is. Scammers price low to create urgency. Check what comparable boards actually sell for — and be suspicious of bargains that need to close "today".
Pressure to pay off-platform
Anyone pushing you to abandon the relay and settle quickly by direct message — "PayPal friends & family right now and I'll hold it for you" — is showing you a red flag. Keep communication in the relay until a match is confirmed.
Sight-unseen wire transfers
Never wire money for a board you have not verified — no video call, no extra photos, no serial number. Irreversible payment methods (wire, crypto, gift cards) to unverified strangers are how marketplace money disappears.

How to verify condition remotely
Ask for a video call walkthrough
A live video call is the closest thing to an in-person inspection: the seller shows the board from all sides, powers it on, and answers questions in real time. Honest sellers are happy to do this.
Request a battery health check
The battery is the most expensive wear part. Ask for the charge-cycle count and a photo or screen capture of the battery display or app, if the system has one.
Check serial numbers
Ask for the board and battery serial numbers. They confirm the exact model and year, and help rule out stolen goods. We can relay them on request.
We coordinate all of this through the relay — just ask, and we'll set it up with the seller.
Shipping
Shipping an eFoil safely
Batteries are dangerous goods
Lithium eFoil batteries are classed as dangerous goods (UN 3480/3481). They cannot go in normal parcels or passenger aircraft luggage, and many parcel services refuse them outright.
Country restrictions vary
What ships fine by road inside the EU may be impossible to another continent. Some deals work best as "board ships, battery sells locally" or as in-person pickup. Check the listing's battery shipping note first.
Use proper carriers
For batteries, arrange a carrier certified for dangerous goods with correct declaration and packaging. Boards, masts and wings ship as regular (bulky) freight — insure the shipment for the sale value.

Honest fine print
Our role — and its limits
What we are: a matchmaking service. We verify listings for plausibility, relay and filter all communication, match buyers with sellers, and guide both sides through inspection, payment terms and shipping.
What we are not (yet): we do not take custody of goods or funds at this stage. There is no escrow service at launch, we do not physically inspect boards, and the purchase contract is between buyer and seller. Payment method and timing are your decision — made with our guidance, but yours.
That's the honest deal: real human protection where it matters most, and clear responsibility where it stays with you. If anything about a match ever feels off, tell us at [email protected] — we would rather cancel a match than see a bad deal happen.
